Camp update # 3!!!

The morning session we took heavy singles in both the snatch and clean and jerk. Most of the athletes had personal records! The improvement in technique already is astonishing! We also worked on squats, snatch balance & over head squats and some trunk stability. All the athletes were feeling pretty beat up at this point…par for the course… After the morning camp session we started our USA Weightlifting Level 2 Certification course. We have 10 participants and covered topics including:

  1. Principles of Coaching
  2. Skill Acquisition
  3. Biomechanics
  4. Anatomy & Physiology
  5. Nutrition
  6. Weightlifting Technique

In the evening session we warmed up with some PVC dislocates and snatch grip upright rows. Then we went to 6 singles at 85% of their new max in the snatch. Next was behind the neck snatch grip PUSH PRESSES. Followed up with some much needed accessory work, and a group roll and stretch session.

The gym is cleaned and mopped…ready for another fun filled day today at RWL!!!
